Larry Steven Brekke was born in Albert Lea on September 12, 1951, the son of Selmer and Alpha (Peterson) Brekke. He was baptized and confirmed at the West Freeborn Lutheran Church. He grew up in the Manchester and Freeborn Areas, graduating from Freeborn High School in 1969. Larry attended the Art Institute of St. Paul for two years and Rochester Community College for two years. Larry lived in Dexter most of his life, and worked for MN-DOT as a Surveyor. He was currently retired. Larry enjoyed painting, woodcarving and woodworking, gardening, and working on automobiles. He especially enjoyed the time he got to spend with his grandsons Pacey and Charley, as well as other family members. Blessed be his memory.
Survivors include his children Shanda (Doug) Meyer and Travis (Norena) Brekke, grandsons Pacey Brekke and Charley Brekke, brother Dale (Kathy) Brekke and nieces and a nephew.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents Alpha and Selmer Brekke and his sister Carolyn Brekke.
