Kevin Schewe

Funeral services for Kevin Harry Schewe will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Central Freeborn Lutheran Church. The Rev. Matt Griggs will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-6:00 p.m. Friday November 8, 2013 at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

Kevin died on Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.

Kevin Harry Schewe was born on April 6, 1954 in Albert Lea, the son of Howard and Harriet (Nelson) Schewe. He grew up and attended school in Albert Lea. Kevin worked at Progress Casting in Albert Lea for 33 years as a Molder.  After working at Progress he joined his son Kevin in starting an automotive mechanic and body shop. On June 2, 2007 Kevin was united in marriage to Debra Weitzel. The couple had been together for 30 years. Kevin enjoyed fishing, camping, working on cars and especially the time he spent with his wife and family. Kevin loved going on road trips.

Survivors include his wife Debra, his children Kevin Jr. (Tina) Schewe and Kristopher (Beth) Schewe; stepdaughters April and Amber Tasker; grandchildren Alicia and Elena Schewe, Hallie Schewe, Alexis and Noah Tasker, and Zoe and Zana Tripp; mother Harriet (Melvin) Wittmer;  siblings Lorraine (special friend Ron) Schewe, Linda (Lanny) Bergeson, Lanette (Larry) Olson, Howard Jr. (Julie) Schewe, Rod (Vicky) Schewe, and Lyndon (Cindi) Schewe; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Kevin was preceded in death by his father Howard Schewe and his nephew Lonnie Bergeson.
