Kenneth Elwood Houg was born on July 26, 1933 to Merton and Lila Towne Houg at Naeve Hospital in Albert Lea. He was baptized, confirmed and married by Pastor A.C. Korsrud. Kenneth graduated from Albert Lea High School. On August 10, 1957 he was united in marriage to Janice Flatness at First Lutheran Church in Glenville. Kenneth farmed for 14 years after which time he went to work for Master Mix/Central Soya as a salesman. When Kenneth retired he drove his grandson, Chase, to MN School for the Deaf in Faribault. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Glenville, where he had served as President of the congregation. Kenneth also served for 9 years on the Freeborn County Planning Commission until 2007, was the treasurer of the Freeborn County DFL for 8 years, and had served as president of the Glenville Senior Citizens for 3 years. His hobbies included fishing, golfing, and playing cards. He will be greatly missed by his wife and family. Survivors include his wife, Janice; children, Susan Devens, Scott Sherry Houg, Julie Houg, and Jeff Houg; grandchildren, Matthew Lora, Dustin, Joshua, Jordan, Abigail, Colt and Chase; brothers, Harold Nancy Houg, Myron Shirley Houg, and Herb Pat Houg; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; and grandchildren, Ryan and Jessica Budach.
