Funeral services for Kathryn Sue Pacovsky, age 69, of Albert Lea, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 20, 2018 at First Lutheran Church. Rev. John Holt will officiate. Interment will be at Bohemian National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 19 at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Kathy died Sunday, April 15, 2018 at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Minneapolis.
Kathryn Sue Pacovsky was born August 1, 1948 in Albert Lea, the daughter of George and Laura (Grinolds) Peterson. She grew up in Albert Lea, graduating from Albert Lea High School. On June 7, 1969, Kathy was united in marriage to Eugene Pacovsky at First Lutheran Church, where her grandparents were charter members. Kathy started working at the Albert Lea Medical Center, then raised her children, returning to ALMC as her children grew up until her retirement in 2005. She loved her children, music, spending time with her family, and going for walks. Kathy also loved animals, including her beloved pets: Tubby, Missy, Gretchen, Sheba, BK, Callie, and Mama. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and served on the funeral committee.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Eugene; daughters, Lisa (Kyle) Birkenmeier, Lori Pacovsky (Chris Ferro), and Marica Borgen; grandchildren, Lauren, Max, Hayden, Sam, Rowan, River, Daniel, Luke, and Bear; sisters, Betty Abben and Carol Gilderhus; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, George Peterson, David Peterson, and Thomas Peterson; and sister, Barb Armstrong.
In lieu of flowers, all memorials will be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.
