Kathleen was born on April 16, 1956, to Philip and Patricia O'Connor Kermes in Albert Lea, MN. She attended the Hayward Elementary School, Southwest Junior High and was a 1974 graduate of Central High School in Albert Lea. Kathleen married Randy Farris on November 30, 1979 and they have resided in Conger for the last 31 years. She was employed at Alamco for over 25 years as an RF operator. Kathleen enjoyed painting and drawing portraits, gardening and being outdoors. She was active in a quilting club, the Cancer Bike-a-Thon and the Relay for Life. She was also a faithful member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school, participated in circle and helped out where ever needed. Kathleen especially enjoyed camping with her family. Survivors include her husband Randy; parents, Philip and Patricia Kermes of Hayward; children, Melanie Farris, US Army Sgt Nicholas Hayley Farris, and Shane Farris; grandson, Laiken Farris; sisters, Sharon Mark Dempewolf, JoAnne Gary Johnson, Susan Mark Runden, Rita Kermes, and Jackie Mark Trapp; brothers, Neil Kermes, Mark Anne Kermes, Matthew Connie Kermes and many other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Kathleen was preceded in death by her grandparents; mother-in-law, Mavis Farris; father-in-law, Ivan Farris; brothers-in-law, Jerry Farris and Richard Farris; and nephew Jerry "LJ" Farris.
