Funeral services for Karen Renae Woodford, age 49, of Albert Lea will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 13, 2014 at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. The Rev. Milt Ost will officiate. Interment will be in Lakewood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m., Sunday, April 12, 2015 at the Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
Karen died on Tuesday at St. Maryâs Hospital in Rochester.
Karen Renae Woodford was born in Albert Lea on March 12, 1966, the daughter of Lewis and Gladys (Mostrom) Cunningham. She grew up here and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1984. On October 13, 1984 Karen was united in marriage to Clint Woodford at Grace Lutheran Church. She obtained an Associateâs Degree from Riverland College. Karen operated a daycare in her home for several years. She went to work for Mayo Health System Albert Lea as a Health Unit Coordinator and has worked there the last seven years. She was a member of Grace Lutheran, a stamping club, and of a Business Professional Association through Riverland. Karen loved fishing, stamping and making cards, and particularly loved children. Survivors include her husband Clint, her sisters Sheryl (Freddie) Wacholz and Doreen Karnowski; brother Gary (Debbie) Cunningham; mother-in-law Mary Woodford; and nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and father-in-law Douglas Woodford.
