Julie Ann Stadheim

July 31, 1952 — March 27, 2025

Albert Lea

Julie Ann Stadheim, 72, of Albert Lea passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025 after being diagnosed with Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy.

Julie was born on July 31, 1952 to Harold and Phyllis Benson. She grew up in Clarks Grove in her father's barbershop and mother's lunchroom.

Julie began working at the State Bank of Clarks Grove where she met a tall, handsome crop and livestock farmer named Ronald Stadheim. They married on October 21, 1972 at the First Baptist Church of Clarks Grove. They had two daughters, Stephanie and Laurie.

Julie worked various jobs as the girls were growing up. She was an amazing cook and to her embarrassment was called "Betty Crocker" by many family members and neighbors. After the girls got older, Julie worked at Shopko when it first opened in Albert Lea. She finished her career at Riverland Community College in Austin. Numbers were her thing and her checkbook balanced to the penny each month. She also took great pride in keeping her house clean. She hated Fall because she could not keep the china hutch and her windows clean.

Julie's two grandchildren were her two most precious treasures. She was fortunate enough to have them live only a few miles away and spent as much time as she could with them. They loved coming to her house and having sleepovers.

Julie is survived by her husband Ron of 52 years. Daughters Stephanie Stadheim and Laurie (Mike) Stanek. Grandchildren Allyson (Lane Ohl) Stanek and Cole Stanek. Sister Nancy (Keith) Harty. Sisters-in-law Ruth Benson and Pat Benson. Also, brother and sisters in-law Charles (Nancy) Stadheim, Mary (Denny) Jensen, Nancy (Denny) Mattson, Sandy (Jon) Larson. As well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Phyllis, her father and mother in-law Stanley and Babe Stadheim. Her brothers Don and Tom Benson. Nephews Todd Harty and Jim Benson, and niece April Sorenson.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 11 am at East Freeborn Lutheran Church with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
