Julie Ann Severtson, 76, of Glenville, MN. died peacefully on November 1, 2024, at Thorne Crest of Albert Lea with family by her side, following a 6 year battle with a rare form of Parkinson’s.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at Bayview Freeborn Funeral Home with a visitation to be held an hour prior. Interment will be held at Greenwood cemetery in Glenville following the service.
Julie was born January 29, 1948 in Albert Lea, the daughter of Hadley and Pearl Harmon. She graduated from Northwood-Kensett High School in 1967. She was united in marriage to Steve Severtson on Sept. 25, 1971 at First Lutheran Church in Northwood. Together they raised two children, Randy and Melanie. Her favorite job was being a homemaker, but she also cleaned houses and was a caregiver for her aunt for many years.
Julie enjoyed many things in life. She loved to camp, garden, do word searches and crochet. She was an excellent cook and baker. She was always making something new, probably best known for her famous brownies. She enjoyed many fishing trips up North and took many vacations with her husband, kids and grandchildren.
Julie‘s family was everything to her, and she was everything to them. Julie happily doted on her children and husband their entire life together. She was the ultimate mom, wife, and grandma.
The last several years while Julie‘s illness worsened were not always easy. But she continued to enjoy life. Her family was devoted to helping Julie live life to the fullest her last few years. They took her on many outings, including day trips, afternoon jaunts, scenic drives, and time sitting outside enjoying the fresh air, and there was always lots of laughter.
Julie will be greatly missed by her family here on earth, but she is finally reunited with her beloved son, Randy in heaven, and for that we celebrate.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 53 years, Steve Severtson; her daughter, Melanie (Mark) Waters; granddaughter Kendall (Ricky) Gullickson; grandson Caleb Waters; great-granddaughter Raelynn; brother Keith (Stephanie) Harmon; brother-in-law Richard Jensen; and nieces, nephews, great niece and great nephews and many special cousins.
Julie is preceded in death by her son Randy; parents Hadley & Pearl; mother & father-in-law Marvel & Clayton Severtson and sister-in-law Cheryl Jensen.
