Julia Mae Heyne

November 4, 1920 — January 28, 2007

Julia Mae Heyne was born November 4, 1920, to Anthony Frank and Margaret Rosella Gast Hartings in St. Rose, Ohio. On June 1, 1940, she was united in marriage to Richard E. Beck in Covington, KY. He preceded her in death on December 31, 1968. Julia married Robert B. Maxwell August 5, 1978, in Beavercreek, Ohio. He died November 17, 1982. On June 21, 1986, Julia married Cletus H. "Dutch" Heyne in Dayton, OH. He died January 14, 1990. Julia had worked as a lighting specialist for Duellman Electric and Lyons Electric. She has been a resident of Albert Lea since 2003. Prior to that time, she had lived in Ohio. Julia was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, St. Albert's Catholic Church in Dayton, OH, and, for many years, a member of the United Church of Christ in Ellerton, OH. Julia was especially proud to have received her GED at the age of 75. She had volunteered at Kettering Memorial Hospital for many years. Survivors include her children: Sandra and Martin Cummins of Beavercreek, OH, Linda and William Begoon of Sioux Falls, SD, Larry and Susan Beck of Brookville, OH, Patricia and Arnold Mulso of Albert Lea, MN, and Debra and Gary Park of Dresden, OH; step children, Daniel and Betty Maxwell of Lexington, KY and Betty Ann and Norman Wernet of Bexley, OH; 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Donald and Pearl Hartings of Ft. Worth, TX; and sisters, Rosalie Decker of St. Marys, OH and Martha Sherman of Celina, OH. Julia was preceded in death by her parents; husbands: Richard Beck, Robert Maxwell, and Dutch Heyne; sister, Viola Davis; brothers, Andrew Hartings and Jerome Hartings; sister-in-law, Catherine Hartings; and brothers-in-law, Fawn Decker, Walter Davis, and Richard Sherman. The family wishes to acknowledge and thank the staff and residents of St. John's Lutheran Home for the love and care shown to Julia. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. John's Foundation.
