Joyce Antoinette Hendrickson was born on April 27, 1927 to Oscar and Hilda Haakinson Hallum in Manchester Township of Freeborn County. As she grew up her family lived on farms in Freeborn County and she attended country school, graduating from Freeborn High school in 1945. Joyce married Edward Hendrickson in 1945 at the Hartland Parsonage. She was a devoted wife and mother. Joyce was a member of the Hartland Evangelical Lutheran Church where she served as Sunday school Superintendent, was active in the Ladies Aid and Mission Circle. Joyce enjoyed playing Bridge with her neighbors and her monthly lunches with her high school classmates. Survivors include her husband, Edward; children, Carolyn Butch Nolan, Kathleen Schrader, Wayne Nannette Hendrickson, Joan Dean Lindquist, Larry Rita Hendrickson; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers-in-law; 2 sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers; 2 sisters; and son-in-law, Jim Schrader.
