Memorial services for John Sydnes, age 91, of Albert Lea will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. Rev. Jeff Laeger-Hagemeister will officiate. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by local servicemen’s organization, VFW and American Legion. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
John died Saturday, August 10, 2013 at St. John’s Lutheran Home.
John N. Sydnes was born on April 28, 1922 in Scarville, IA, the son of Tom T. and Emma (Severson) Sydnes. John was united in marriage to Dorothy Johnson on Sept. 16, 1944. John worked as the Plant Manager of Parten Manufacturing in Minneapolis for 42 years. He was a veteran in the army.
Survivors include his nephews and nieces, and great-nephews and nieces.
John was preceded in death by his parents; wife Dorothy; and brothers Irving, Earl, LeRoy and Ted.
John will be greatly missed by friends and relatives.
