Funeral services for John W. Krueger, age 55, of rural Alden will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the Concordia Lutheran Church of Pickerel Lake. The Rev. Wendy Anderson will officiate. Interment will be in the Pickerel Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8:00 p.m., Friday, February 19, 2016 at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
John died on Monday, February 15, 2016 at his home.
John William Krueger was born on August 2, 1960 in Albert Lea, the son of Henry W. and Hilda (Fogel) Krueger. He was baptized and confirmed at Concordia Lutheran Church of Pickerel Lake where he has been a lifelong member. John graduated from Alden-Conger High School in 1978. He began farming the Krueger family farm after high school. On November 11, 1989 John was united in marriage to Lynn Osmundson at St. Johnâs Lutheran Church in Mapleton. John worked as the Chief of Maintenance for the Alden-Conger Public Schools. He served on the Alden Township board and had for many years. He was a member of the Albert Lea Rifle and Pistol Club. John enjoyed smoking meats and barbequing. He liked watching NASCAR and enjoyed playing on the church dartball league for many years. Blessed be his memory.
Survivors include his wife Lynn, sons Mark and Ross Krueger, sisters Susan (Wayne) Erickson of Albert Lea and Delores (Donald) Stenzel of Plymouth; father-in-law Lowell âTonyâ Osmundson of Mapleton; sister-in-law Lee (Tim) Solie of Mapleton; brothers-in-law Paul (Susan) Osmundson of Mapleton and Gary Osmundson of Mapleton; uncle Arnold Levisen of Albert Lea; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Hilda, his mother-in-law Benita Osmundson, his grandparents, uncles, and aunts.
