Jewell L. Dahl was born on March 1, 1930 in Glenville, MN, the daughter of Chris and Josephine (Vanek) Steene. She grew up in Glenville and graduated from Albert Lea High School. On July 6, 1947 Jewel was united in marriage to Chester H. Dahl at First Lutheran Church in Glenville. She enjoyed china painting, oil painting, refinishing furniture, and crocheting. She played drums and sang in country bands. Jewell wrote a a column in the Milford UT newspaper called âBy the Way.â Jewell liked spending time with family and friends, doing her hobbies, and caring for her pets. She was an animal lover who took time to love and care for each and every one of them throughout the years.
Survivors include her daughter Deborah Schwab of Spearfish SD; granddaughters Angelique Ruggles, Hillary Schwab, Grace Schwab, and Brazil Dahl; four great-granddaughters; a great-great-grandson; daughter-in-law Gloria Dahl; sisters-in-law Marvel and Donna Dahl and Carol Steene; and many nieces and nephews.
Jewell was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Chester, her daughter Cynthia Dahl, sons Bruce âHossâ Dahl and Danny Dahl; her brothers Remore (Ruth) Steene and Dennis Steene; sisters Harriett(Garfield) Fisk and Charlotte (Duane) Johnson; son-in-law Tim Schwab; brothers-in-law Art (Lorraine) Dahl, John Dahl and Omar Dahl, Melroy (Martha) Nelson, and Harold (Margaret) Mouw; and two nieces.
