Funeral services for Jennifer Rae Helgerson, age 31, of Albert Lea will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 23rd at Ascension Lutheran Church. Rev. Mark Boorsma will officiate. Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 â 7:00 p.m. Monday, July 22nd at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Jennifer Rae Helgerson of Albert Lea passed away Thursday July 18 at the Methodist hospital in Rochester after a sudden battle with a liver disease.
Jeni was a 2000 graduate of Albert Lea High School where she was active in tennis and softball. Jeni graduated from Rasmussen school of Business as a paralegal, Riverland Community College as an LPN and then again as a registered nurse. Jeni was currently working on her bachelorâs degree of science in nursing through Winona. Jeni worked many years with the elderly as an activities director, LPN, and then an RN. She loved working with the elderly. Jeni was a proud Mom to her beautiful children Ramsie (6) and Edison (4), âThe light of her lifeâ.
Jeni will be remembered as fun loving, smart, proud, driven, and never willing to back down from a challenge. She was always ready to help out anywhere, anytime. Jeni was an outgoing, spontaneous, wonderful, beautiful human being who could brighten anyoneâs day with her contagious smile. Jeni loved, loved spending time with her family especially during the holidays and time up north. She was always the first to come and the last to leave.
Jeni is survived by her parents, Alan and Sheila (Ballandby) Helgerson, her children Ramsie and Edison Williams, her significant other Bryce Williams, her sisters Keli Enser (David), Ellen Helgerson and her brother Henry Helgerson, her nieces Gracie and Sophie Enser and her grandmothers Betty Helgerson and Ruth Mashka all of Albert Lea. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her Great Grandma Alice Overgaard, her grandfathers Glen Ballandby and Verlyn Helgerson, her uncle and aunt Randee, and Kim Ballandby and uncle Kevin Dorman, her cousins Josh, Wyatt, and Katie Medd.
Jeni was taken from us far too soon but luckily we are blessed with many,many unforgettable memories.
