Jeffrey Irwin Bjornstad was born February 6, 1953, to Irwin E. and Frances L. Poupart Bjornstad in St. Paul. He and his brother, Jack were raised by their grandparents, Oscar and Ingeborg Bjornstad in Albert Lea and baptized and confirmed at West Freeborn Lutheran Church. Jeff attended schools in Albert Lea and then earned a degree in electronics at Winona Tech and a degree in sales and marketing from Riverland. He was a "man of many talents" and had spent much of his life promoting music and musicians throughout the country. Jeff enjoyed playing darts, cribbage, and disc golf. He was an avid Vikings fan and difficult to stump on "music trivia." As an adult, Jeff became very involved in researching his Ojibwe ancestry and it became his way of life. Survivors include his lifetime companion, Maureen Stein and her family: Marlene and her husband Mike Greiner and their children, Elora "Little Angel" and Treselia "Little T" and Celine Stein; aunt, Alice Imme; nephews, Kaleb and his wife Tracy Bjornstad and their daughter, Kyra and Justin Bjornstad; niece, Jessica Bjornstad; half-brothers, Bruce Walley and Andy Nielsen and Brenda Hart and their son, Levi; special cousins: Ida Nelson, Cappy Landin, Flora LaBelle, and Ernie St. Germaine; and many other relatives and special friends, particularly the "Winona Bunch," his cribbage buddies, and the "Front Street Kids." Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Irwin and Frances Bjornstad; grandparents, Oscar and Ingeborg Bjornstad and Francis and Elizabeth Kiboneki Poupart; brother, Jack Bjornstad; uncle, Bill Imme; and many other relatives. Happy Trails, Nitamigiizhig, until we meet again.
