Memorial services for Jeanette McElroy, age 79, of Albert Lea will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Bear Lake Concordia Lutheran Church. Pastor Daphne Hamborg will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Bear Lake Cemetery.
Jeanette died Saturday, February 20, 2016 at her home.
Jeanette M. McElroy was born July 19, 1936 in Providence, Rhode Island, the daughter of Arthur J. G. Frederick Audet and Marie D. Jeanette Bouchard. She grew up in Springfield, Massachusetts. She worked as a dietary aide in the health care field. She came to Minnesota to live with her daughter in 2004. Jeanette was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church. She enjoyed going to Cedar House and loved playing cards, gambling, and animals. She was a people person who loved visiting and especially loved her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Anette McElroy of Albert Lea, Juan Rios and David Rios both of New Jersey; grandchildren, David (Serena) Valdez and their children Marcus and Lilyona, Sharon (Levi) Meyer and their children Aunna, Clara, Levi, Jr., and unborn great-granddaughter Makayla Rose, Harley Meyer, and Pamela (Mark) Sales and their child Mark, Jr.; sister, Pauline of New Jersey, along with cousins, and many nieces and nephews.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Jeanette, and her dog, Bear, who was like her baby.
