Funeral services for Jeanette R. Gulbrandson, age 90 of Albert Lea will we held on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. from Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Jeanette died on Monday, Feb. 16, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Jeanette Ruth Gulbrandson was born on March 27, 1924 in Bancroft township the daughter of Jens and Ruth (Gjermundson) Hovland. She was baptized and confirmed at the Manchester Lutheran Church. Jeanette attended District 20 (Barlow School) and junior high in Albert lea, she graduated from Bethany Lutheran High School, Mankato in June 1943. On August 3, 1947 Jeanette was united in marriage to Howard Gulbrandson at Manchester Lutheran Church. She was employed as a legal secretary in the office of Attorney Joseph Gunderson from June 1943 until her retirement on Dec. 31, 1984. Jeanette was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church since 1947. She was active in the Ladies Aid and the Rebecca Sewing Circle.
Jeanette is survived by nephews David (Jeanne) Swanson and James (Joyce) Hoium and nieces Jeanine (David) Christensen and Janis (David) Springborg.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband Howard, sisters Otelia (Lester) Ross and Pearl (John) Swanson. Nephews John Swanson and Larry Hoium, sister-in-law Gertie Hoium-Hyland and her husbands Leslie Hoium and Ed Hyland.
