Janice Marie Guse was born on August 12, 1936 to Elmer and Gertrude Steinberg in St. Ansgar, Iowa. She graduated from St. Ansgar High School in 1954. Jan graduated from the Methodist-Kahler School of Nursing in 1957. She was employed as a registered nurse at Naeve Hospital since 1963. All would say she dealt with her struggle with grace, dignity, courage and an unwavering faith in God and her Savior. Jan would have said to all she loved, "Do not mourn me dead, for I will be with you always, and when a gentle breeze cools your warm brow, it will be my spirit passing by." She will be dearly missed by her husband, Hank, of forty-seven years; her loving children, Kim and her husband David Rabb, Jackie and her husband Greg Schoonover, and Matt and his wife Rodi Guse, as well as her eight grandchildren Zach, Mandy, Andrew, Ben, Mia, Sam, Ellie and Bryn. She will also be missed by her brother-in-law, David Zea, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, her many friends and members of the Naeve Hospital Community. Jan was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Elmer and Gertrude Steinberg; sister, Sylvia Zea; as well as her mother and father-in-law, Vivian and Henry Guse, Sr. Memorials are preferred to the Crossroads Community Hospice, Salvation Army Food Shelf, Martin Luther Fund at Grace Lutheran Church, the American Cancer Society, or the charity of your choice.
