Janet Lois Olson

Janet Lois Olson was born on February 16, 1944 to Clifford and Mildred Reese Nelson in Waseca, MN. She grew up in the Waseca area and went to country school in Otisco. Jan graduated from Waseca Central High School in 1962. She then attended the Naeve School of Nursing in Albert Lea and graduated as an RN in 1965. On September 16, 1967 Jan was united in marriage to Lewis Olson at First Lutheran Church. She worked for a short time for Dr. Schmidt in Alden and then came to Naeve Hospital where she worked for over 40 years. Jan was very devoted to nursing and taking care of others. She enjoyed growing flowers, cleaning and she loved to laugh, dance and be with her grandbabies. Survivors include her husband, Lew; children, Corey Shannon Olson, Chris Melanie Elliott Olson and Cher Cody Habana Olson; grandchildren, Treyton, Journey, Bella, Kasia, and Isaak Olson all of Alden; brother, Dwain Marilyn Nelson; sister, Sharon Phil Schwartz; and many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jan was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Hunter Olson; brother, Gene Charlotte Nelson; and sister, Verlene Jim Paulson.
