James Stuart Sanborn was born on September 25, 1939 to George and Alta Nelson Sanborn in Freeborn County. Jim grew up on the family farm near Hayward and later moved to Albert Lea. He attended District #60 School and Albert Lea High School. After high school he was employed at the Farm Labor Gas Station in Albert Lea. Later, Jim moved to Austin and was employed by ABC and Cedar Valley Career Industries for 40 years. He was a confirmed member of United Methodist Church. Jim loved the outdoors and loved growing and nuturing his roses. The highlight of his day was driving his "79 Ford" to the "What's Cookin" restaurant and having coffee with all his friends. He also enjoyed hunting and watching the Minnesota Twin's games. Survivors include his brother, Clint Sanborn; sister, Carol Stiles; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Sanborn; and several nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, George and Alta Sanborn; brothers, Charles Sanborn; and in infancy, George M. Sanborn, Jr. and Ricky Duane Sanborn. Jim's family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Austin Medical Center, St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester and Good Samaritan Center in Albert Lea.
