Irwin John Rodsater

August 14, 1909 — February 22, 2005

Irwin John Rodsater was born August 14, 1909, to Alexander J. and Turella Gunderson Rodsater in Manchester Township. He graduated from Albert Lea High School and attended college for two years in Decorah before going to the University of Minnesota. After college, Irwin returned to the family farm near Manchester that he still owns. He served in the United States Army during WWII. Irwin was a member of West Freeborn Lutheran Church where he sang in the Church choir and was also a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing and as a young man was a very good baseball player. Survivors include his nephews, Jon Rodsater and family of Illinois and Franklin Blye and family of California. Irwin was preceded in death by his parents; sister Viola and her husbands, Dr. Blye and Joseph McKirahan; and brother, Alexander Rodsater and his wife, Genevieve.
