Howard Homer Hubbard was born July 30, 1911, to Sam and Ida Kennedy Hubbard in Austin. He attended schools in Austin and graduated from Austin High School. Howard served in the US Army during WWII from 1941 - 1944. On December 9, 1942, he was united in marriage to Shirley Nelson in Albert Lea. Howard was employed as an auto mechanic at the Motor Inn Co. He was a life member of the American Motorcycle Assn. and a member of the Falcon's Motorcycle Club. Howard was an avid motorcycle rider and racer and enjoyed flying his own plane and midget car racing. Survivors include his daughter, Diane Oldfather of Lake Mills; grandchildren: Chad and his wife, Shelley Yost of Lakeville and their children, Derek and Jacob; Chet and his wife, Heather Yost of Lake Mills and their daughter, Haley; Cory Yost of Northwood and his children: Conor, Duncan, and Kelsey; Cody and his wife, Cindy Yost of Albert Lea and their children: Demi, Jordyn, Raven, and Melody; Cade and his wife, Jen Yost of Albert Lea and their children: Sabia, Anthony, Nikki, Justis, Jordan, and Chaz; and Cole Oldfather of Lake Mills. Howard was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shirley; brother, Warren Hubbard; and sisters, Bethel Fink and Ruth Hubbard.
