Helen J. Stensrud

Helen June Stensrud was born on October 10, 1925 in Hayward, the daughter of Oscar and Fleeta Schue Johnson. She grew up in Hayward and went to District 36 School. As a young woman, Helen worked for Land-O-Lakes and also as a housekeeper. On June 18, 1949 Helen was married to Walter "Bud" Stensrud. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and of the VFW Auxiliary. Helen enjoyed doing fine needlework and embroidery. She liked watching her soap operas on television. Survivors include her daughter Karen and her husband Larry Lawrence of Albert Lea, son Keith Stensrud and special friend Pauline Cameron of Albert Lea, grandsons Tom and wife Deb Lawrence of Albert Lea and Travis Lawrence and his friend Robin of Glencoe, great-grandson Gavin Lawrence, sisters Dorothy Adams and Twila Laite, and nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Walter, and a son, Ricky Dean, in infancy.
