Hazel Wolff

February 10, 1912 — October 23, 2010

Hazel was born near Gordonsville, Minnesota February 10, 1912 to Henry and Whilemine "Minnie" Luth Lau. She was a lifelong resident of Freeborn County, living in the Glenville and Albert Lea Areas. Hazel was united in marriage to Leonard Wolff on December 19, 1929 in Albert Lea, Minnesota. They enjoyed farming until 1982 when they retired. They traveled extensively in their motor home, seeing family, friends and the country. They loved their winter home in Port Richey, Florida. After Leonard's death, Hazel continued living on the farm and their home in Florida. She moved to the Knutson Place Apartments, and later St. John's Lutheran Home. Hazel loved nature and the out of doors. She loved flowers and her beautiful flower garden. She prided herself by cutting the grass with her riding mower well into her eighties. Hazel loved cooking and baking and was known for serving delicious meals to their many visitors. Hazel was a long time member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Myrtle. She was dearly loved by daughters, Marlene Warren Jensen of Albert Lea and Mary Ann Howard Olson of Chanhassen, Minnesota who survive her. Survivors include five grandchildren, Katherine Donald Greydanus of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Deborah William Rupp of St. Paul, Mark Colleen Rickheim of Woodbury, Minnesota, Scott Olson of Shorewood, Minnesota, and Daniel Linda Olson of Edina, Minnesota; twelve great-grandchildren; and six great great-grandchildren. Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; parents; three brothers, Harvey Cora Lau, Elmer Lulu Lau, and Leonard Hazel Lau; sisters, Lillian Ole Rasmusson, Anna Robert Ewald, Minnie Earl Sutton, and Alvina Gilbert Peterson; and many nieces and nephews. Hazel loved life and her advice was to live one day at a time. Rest in peace, dear lady. You are loved and will be greatly missed. Memorials are preferred to Bethlehem Lutheran Church Myrtle, MN 56036.
