Harvey Percy Satre was born September 27, 1914, on the family farm in Seeley Township, Faribault County, Minnesota, to Iver and Mattie Langsev Satre. He grew up on the Satre farm and attended Homedahl Rural School in Seeley Township, Faribault County. He was confirmed in the South Blue Earth Lutheran Church. Harvey married Esther Bernice Gullord March 30, 1938, in Elmore, Minnesota. They moved to Albert Lea in 1939, when Harvey began work as a Star Route Mail Contractor for the U. S. Post Office. He retired in 1981. Harvey was a member of First Lutheran Church, the Elks B.P O.E. 813, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. His hobbies were fishing and coin collecting. Harvey is survived by his wife, Bernice; daughter, Marlene and her husband, Dr. Aaron E. Parkhurst, of Greeley, Colorado; two grandchildren, Derek Parkhurst and wife, Ruth, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Nicole Phillips and husband, Tad, of Greeley; and four great-grandchildren, Blake and Connor Phillips of Greeley and Darian and Marcus Parkhurst of Sioux Falls. He is also survived by three brothers: Wallace and wife, Jeanette, of Aloha, Oregon, Duane and wife, Mary Ann, of Arlington, Texas, and Gene and wife, Marlene, of Amboy, Minnesota; one sister, Donna Bateman, of Greenwood Village, Colorado; and many nieces and nephews. Harvey was preceded in death by his father and mother; three brothers: Arlow, Ronald, and Iray; and two sisters, Geraldine Andersen and Marjorie Kruger. The family suggests memorials to "Peace and Power" or St. John's Lutheran Home.
