Harriet Lucille Moore was born September 18, 1930, in Blue Earth to Frederick and Olga Alvina Evans Heenan. She was the youngest in a family of 9 children. Harriet graduated in 1948 from Blue Earth High School. Following high school, she was employed at Blue Earth Medical Center as a Nursing Assistant. On January 7, 1951, Harriet married Richard H. Dick Moore in Blue Earth. They lived by Camp Rucker Alabama while Richard was in the service. In 1952, they moved to Albert Lea where Richard was employed by Wallace's as manager. All four children were born in Albert Lea. While her children were in school, Harriet was a Den Mother, leader of many 4-H projects, Secretary-Treasurer of the grade school PTA, President of the junior high PTA, and an active member of the Circles and Bible school of Grace Lutheran Church. Most recently, she and her husband were members of First Lutheran Church. In 1970, Harriet started her own floral business in her home. She loved flowers and weddings and made floral arrangements for more than 560 weddings over the years. In 1980, Harriet and friend, Cheryl Lavalier Nelson, went into business together and the business was called "Flowers Plus." After this business closed, Harriet's Floral business was again located in her home, and she worked part time for Johnson Floral, retiring in 1990. Harriet loved to cook, garden, sew, and do many crafts. She loved cats and collected cat statues. Survivors include her husband, Richard; her children: Steve and Ruth Moore of Rochester, Judy and Charles Nesse of Albert Lea, Cheryl Moore of Rochester, and Kevin and Lori Moore of Chaska; grandchildren: Allen and Anna Moore, Matthew and Kristina Nesse, and Christian, Arianna, Erin, and Shannon Moore; many other relatives and friends; and their cat, "Maxi." Harriet was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers: George, Walter Pug, and Carl; her sisters: Helen, Alice, Ruth, Marian, and Edna; and a son, Dennis who died in infancy. Harriet will be greatly missed but we eagerly anticipate joining her in Heaven one day. A special thanks and blessing to Jackie Sletten who was a friend and caregiver to Harriet for many years.
