Harriet Darlene Classon was born on October 7, 1936 to Henry and Dena Tviete Quam in rural Glenville. She was a lifelong resident of Freeborn County and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1953. On July 31, 1954 Harriet was united in marriage to Vernon Classon at Round Prairie Lutheran Church. Harriet was employed at Schweigert/Land O Lakes for 24 years as a supply room clerk. She was a member of Round Prairie Lutheran Church and the First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea where she was a Sunday school teacher. Harriet was also a member of the Women's Moose Auxiliary Club. She enjoyed camping, bowling, spending time and vacations with her family. Survivors include her husband, Vern of Albert Lea; daughters, Sue Gregerson and husband Steve; Steph Herfendal and husband John all of Albert Lea, and Sandy Duncan and husband Jon of Alden; sons, Steve Classon and wife Lori, and Shane Classon of Albert Lea; granddaughters, Tammy Oudekerk and husband Troy of Austin, Tricia Gregerson of Minneapolis, Jenny Torgerson and husband Craig, Sarah Herfendal, Tara Gregerson, Emily Herfendal, Chelsey Classon all of Albert Lea; grandsons, Daniel and Jaeger Classon of Albert Lea; great-granddaughter, Katelyn Oudekerk; sisters, Dolly Don Worke of Albert Lea, Gert John Erickson of Des Moines, IA, Carol Ron Hass of Isle, MN; Many nieces, nephews and special friends. Harriet was preceded in death by her parents, Dena and Henry Quam; brother, Howard Quam, Sr., in-laws, Allen and Rose Classon; brothers-in-law, Harlan and Wayne Classon, Ray VanRyswyk, Robert Kaasa; and sister-in-laws, Toots VanRyswyk, and Dolly Kaasa.
