Harlan Leroy Davis was born July 1, 1928, to William and Lida Pfahning Davis in Albert Lea. He attended schools in Albert Lea and Freeborn. Harlan was employed at Rilco before serving in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1950 - 1952. After his discharge, Harlan returned to Rilco and then worked at the Midway Body Shop. On February 21, 1953, he was united in marriage to Doris Hanson in Hartland. From 1968 until his retirement, Harlan owned the D & B Body Shop in Manchester. He was a member of the West Freeborn Lutheran Church, where he had been the custodian for 12 years. Harlan loved to drive around the country and look at wild life. Survivors include his wife, Doris; children: Sue and her husband, Roger Bakken and children Lance Johannsen and Kristopher Johannsen; Vickie and her husband, Orlen "Corky" Modene and children, Shannon, Chasity, Jaimie, and her son, Aiden, and Brandi; Lonna Solmonson and children, Blair and Bryce; Brian and wife, Joanie Davis and children, Hillary Stencil, Nathan Stencil, and Mariah Davis; and Kevin and his wife, Jody Davis and son, Cameron; sisters: Evelyn Guerneu, Elinor Lee, Sharon and her husband, Jim Olson, and Audrey and her husband, Don Johannsen; brother, Richard Davis; sisters and brother-in-law, Don and his wife, Connie Neubauer and Phyllis Paulson; and nieces and nephews. Harlan was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Harriet Johnson; and brothers, Wayne and Harold Davis.
