Gregoria Cruz was born May 21, 1913, to Felix and Manuela Gonzales Luna in Leon Guanajuato, Mexico. As a young girl, she was taught Spanish, Bohemian, and English. On February 10, 1940, she was united in marriage to Alfredo Cruz in Leveland, TX Grandma was a hard-working homemaker raising her children and being their for her family. With her large family, she still had time to work outside the home doing hard physical labor in a variety of places. Gregoria was known as "Grandma" to everyone, even those who weren't related. She had a "green thumb" and loved to work in her flower and vegetable gardens. One of Grandma's greatest pleasures was cooking for everyone who came to her home, whether they were hungry or not. At the age of 77, she dedicated her time being taught English by Shirlie Brownlow. Grandma was a member of the Church of St. Theodore for over 60 years. Survivors include her children: San Juana and husband, Florentino Flores of Clarks Grove, Antonia and husband, Larry Nelson of Dodge Center, Alfredo Jr. and wife, Trudie Cruz of Sioux Falls, Rose and husband, Charles Montanye of Clarks Grove, Nellie and husband, Alfredo Godines of San Antonio, TX, and Linda Cruz Lares and Juan Ortiz of Albert Lea; step daughter-in-law, Basilisa Cruz of Glendale, CA; 35 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; and sisters and brothers: Cecilia Ortiz, Tomasa Serrano, Ray Luna, Lucas Luna, Cecilia Rogers, and Bob Luna. Grandma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alfredo Cruz Sr.; daughters: Angelina Cruz, Sara Cruz, and Mary Cruz Flores; son, Frank Joseph Cruz; step son, Filiberto Cruz Sr.; grandsons, Charles Montanye, Zacherias Cruz, and Anthony Lee Flores; and brothers and sisters: Guadalupe Duenes, Casimira Gomez, Jesus Luna, Alejandra Silva, Maltide Luna, and Monica Luna.
