Franklin Delano Belshan was born on September 5, 1935 in Albert Lea, the son of Frank and Marie (Pondelicek) Belshan Sr. He was a lifelong resident of the Myrtle area. Franklin attended District 116 Country School through the eighth grade, and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1953. After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Army. On May 23, 1957 Franklin was united in marriage to Ronna Randall at Calvary Baptist Church. He worked at Wilsons/Farmstead as a meat cutter for 33 years. Franklin was a member of the ZCBJ Lodge. Franklinâs hobbies included fishing, hunting, farming, gardening, providing the families with fresh meats and vegetables, and spending time with Gracey, his dog. Franklin enjoyed reading Outdoor News, watching old sitcoms, gameshows, and westerns; riding his ATV with Gracey by his side; and teaching his grandkids how to be a good sportsman.
Survivors include his wife Ronna Belshan; daughters Debra (James) Viktora and Pamela (Craig) Peterson; grandchildren Kim (Dan) Stoner, Amber Viktora, Angie (Brooks) Drescher, Matt (Michelle) Peterson, and Josh Peterson; great-grandchildren Aiden and Austin Stoner, Cohen and Jovie Drescher, Lila and Lucy Peterson, and Lucas Peterson.
Franklin was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Marie Belshan, aunts and uncles Albert Belshan, Anna (Al) Tulberg, Bessie (Leland) Schumacher and father-in-law and mother-in-law Arthur and Rozena Randall.
Memorials are preferred to Mayo Clinic Health System Hospice or the donorâs choice.
