Florence Louise King was born on November 29, 1918 to Calvin and Edna Spencer Randall in Marshalltown, IA. Florence moved from Iowa to Hollandale in 1927. She attended Hollandale schools. Florence met her future husband on her knees in an onion field. She married Charles Tommy King on January 4, 1941 in Adell, IA. Florence worked for the Hollandale Marketing Association for 23 years and then at Streater's in Albert Lea until retiring in 1981. She attended the Hollandale Conservative Congregational Church in Hollandale for many years before being baptized and joining in 1949. She was devoted to her husband of 62 years and their children and two granddaughters. Florence also had the opportunity to meet three of her great-grandchildren, Dillon, Marina Bae and Meaghan before she died. She has one other great-grandson, Aidan. Florence was a very thoughtful and caring person. Always looking for ways to help family and friends. She enjoyed embroidering dish towels and pillow cases to give as gifts and loved the time she spent bowling and going on bus tours with Tommy. She will be missed by many. Survivors include her daughter, Janice and husband, Jim Dittmar of Delta, CO; granddaughters. Tami and husband, Kevin Graham and Kimberly and husband, Stephen Wright; great-grandchildren, Dillon, and Marina Bae Graham, Meaghan and Aidan Wright along with many wonderful nieces and nephews. Florence was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, four sisters and two brothers. Memorials are preferred to Crossroads Community Hospice.
