Fern C Edwin

Funeral services for Fern C. Edwin will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church.  Rev. Eileen Woyen will officiate.  Interment will be at Alden Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. 

Fern died Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Health System Albert Lea. 

Fern Carrol Edwin was born March 20, 1927 in Freeborn County, the daughter of Peter and Nora (Peterson) Nelson.  She grew up in rural Alden and attended school in Freeborn.  In 1944 Fern was united in marriage to George Hendrickson who died in 1962, in 1964 she married Ralph Moore who died in 1968 and in February 1969 she was united in marriage to Donald Edwin who died in 2012.  Fern was a member at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sunbeam Mission Circle, VFW Auxiliary and the Legion Auxiliary.  She enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, bowling and playing cards, especially 500 and Bridge.  Most of all Fern loved spending time with her family. 

Survivors include her children Susan (Lowell) Syverson of Des Moines, IA, James (Mary) Hendrickson of LaCrosse, WI, Andrew (Kim) Hendrickson of CA, Mary (Tom) Jean of Mankato, Peter (Diane) Moore of Clarks Grove and John (Jenny) Edwin of Albert Lea; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 

Fern was preceded in death by her parents; husbands George Hendrickson, Ralph Moore and Donald Edwin and sister Lois Steele.
