Fern Catherine Cameron

November 1, 1934 — February 2, 2015

Funeral services for Fern Cameron will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 6, 2015 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.  The Rev. James Kassera and Rev. Darrell Bakke will officiate.  Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  
Fern died Monday, February 02, 2015 at St. John’s Lutheran Community.  
Fern Catherine Cameron was born November 1, 1934 the daughter of Edward H.F. and Viola Fern (Lamaack) Mielke.  She grew up and went to school in Albert Lea.  On November 17, 1951 Fern was united in marriage to James Cameron at  Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.  Fern worked as a waitress at Hotel Albert and other locations around the area.  She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and the Eagles Lodge.  Fern enjoyed gardening, needle point, crossword puzzles and she was an avid reader.  
Survivors include her children Marchelle (Sheila) Hoenisch, Butch (Wandany) Cameron, Neil (Geneva) Cameron and Brad Cameron; 10 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; brother Vernon Mielke ; brothers-in-law Dick Cameron and Don Metcalfe; sister-in-law Rossi Cameron; step-brothers and step-sisters Robert Bartz, Vernal Bartz Jr., Ruth Peterson and Marcia Carlson; and several nieces and nephews.  
Fern was preceded in death by her parents; husband James; sons James and Michael Cameron; grandson Josh Hoenisch; sister Joyce Metcalfe; brother Virg Mielke and 2 nephews.  
Fern’s family would like to thank the staff of 2nd North at St. John’s Lutheran Community for their exceptional care.
