Evelyn Harriet Williams was born on October 8, 1923 in Cresbard, SD, the daughter of Eric and Viola Schumacher Lehman. She grew up in South Dakota and graduated from Cresbard High School in 1941. On February 18, 1946 Evelyn was united in marriage to Utley E. Williams at the Wecota Lutheran Church in Wecota South Dakota. They came to the Alden area in 1950 and farmed. Evelyn was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church where she had been active as a Bible School Teacher and a member of the Altar Guild. She and her husband spent 18 years wintering in Pharr, Texas and enjoyed this very much. Survivors include her children, Craig and his wife Tammy Williams of Alden, Steven and his wife Suzanne Williams, also of Alden, Sydney Williams of Oakdale, Kevin and his wife Betty Williams of Fairmont, and Matthew and his wife Edith Williams of North Mankato; grandchildren Stacy Williams, Jason and wife Amy Williams, Tim Williams, Michelle Williams, Melissa and husband Rene Herrera, Erica Williams, Adam Williams, Cory Williams, Jenean Williams, and Thomas Williams; great-grandchildren Colton, Jordan, Macy, Brandon, and Alexis; brothers-in-law Claire Kono of South Dakota and Leo and wife Rita Williams of Seattle, three nieces and two nephews. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Utley, her parents, her sister Vivian Kono, and her mother-in-law and father-in-law.
