Evelyn Mae Sailor

February 5, 1931 — October 27, 2014

Evelyn M. Sailor was born on Feb. 5, 1931 in Alden, MN., the daughter of Mary (Larson) Nelson.  She attended rural school in Alden and then was united in marriage to Arnold (Ole) Sailor on March 20, 1947. Evie worked at various jobs during her working career including Ventura Foods, Banquet Foods, bartender/waitress and at the Alden Hardware Store along with being a homemaker.  She enjoyed embroidery and making dish towels for all her children and grandchildren, fishing, gardening, playing Yatzee, “taming her wild cats” walking and taking bus trips with her sisters.  She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Evie is survived by her children; Dan Sailor, Albert Lea, Chuck (Dianne) Sailor, Conger, Cheryl Sailor- Hatle, Albert Lea and Kathy Babcock, Albert Lea.  Grandchildren; Todd (Shari) Sailor, Travis (Angie) Sailor, Angela (Josh) Bryand, Timothy (Miranda) Sailor, Ivy Babcock, Shane (Jolene) Babcock, Marcie Sailor and Tom Cartin.  Great-grandchildren; Dane, Cody, Seth, Coltin, Login, Gage, Shayanne, Payton, Chase, Jayda, Maverick, Sierra, Wyatt, Josie, Laine, Valerie, Keri and Faith.  Great-great-grandchildren, Trent and Jude.  Sister, Marlene Wiese, Jewel, IA and brother-in-law and sisters-in-law Sharon Nelson, Deerwood, MN, Lloyd Lewis, Donna Larson and Mildred Sailor.  Special friend, Daryl Schroeder, Alden and several nieces and nephews and her cat Sandy.
Evie was preceded in death by her mother, husband Arnold, grandson, Colby Sailor, son-in-law, Greg Hatle, brother, LeRoy Nelson and sister Harriet Ellegard and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Vernon Ellegard, Lloyd Wiese, Marv (Gladys) Sailor, Ed (Alice) Sailor, Ira (Everald) Sailor, Gerald Sailor, Wayne Sailor, Tim Sailor, Darlene Lewis, Edna (Ben) Woitas, Ethel Bechtel and Wayne Larson.
