Eugene Edwin Citurs

September 30, 1947 — January 17, 2010

Eugene Edwin Citurs was born on September 30, 1947 to Lynn and Dena DeRaad Citurs. He graduated from Glenville High School in 1965. He lived in the Glenville area most of his life. Gene was inducted into the United States Army on November 22, 1966 and served in the Vietnam conflict until August 1968. Gene was united in marriage to Gloria Bergland on August 30, 1969 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Gene was a retired heavy equipment operator. Through the years, he had worked for Sorenson Bros., Ulland Bros. and Ames Construction. Gene was a member of the Moose Club, Eagles Club and American Legion. Survivors include his sons, Chad and wife Jill of Albert Lea, Christopher and wife Gina of Farmington, and Cory and wife Beth of Plymouth; grandchildren, Kalli, Rylan, Braeya, Sydnee and Jack; mother, Dena Citurs; brother, Robert Citurs; and sister, JoAnn Becker all of Albert Lea; nephews, Jason Becker and Paul Cheryl Citurs; niece, Denise John Sola; uncles, aunts, cousins and many friends. Gene was preceded in death by his grandparents; father, Lynn; brother, Duane Butch; and father-in-law, Truman Bergland.
