Esther Helen Hanson

Memorial services for Esther Helen Hanson, age 80, of Mountain Home, AR, formerly of Albert Lea will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Chapel.  Rev. Milton Ost will officiate.  Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. 

Esther died Friday, October 14, 2011 at Care Manor Nursing Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Esther Helen Hanson was born on February 14, 1931 in Clay Center, Kansas to Roy and Helen (Vesterberg) Trickle.  She moved to the Mason City area and graduated from Mason City High School.  On August 21, 1949 she married Virgil E. Hanson at The Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA.  The couple made their home in the Albert Lea area where Esther worked for the ARC and was a homemaker.  In 1987 they retired and moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas.  Esther was a bird lover and enjoyed watching the birds in her yard.  She always had a beautiful backyard flower garden. Esther was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Arkansas and a former member of Grace Lutheran Church in Albert Lea.  She enjoyed bowling, fishing, snowmobiling, and spending time with her family.

 Survivors include her children, Gary (Alyce) Hanson of Elk River, Larry (Kathie) Hanson of Albert Lea and Sheila Hanson (Francis) Zeman of Owatonna; grandchildren, Brandon (Misty) Hanson, Ryan (Heather) Hanson, Brittany (Mike) Runyon, Derek (Cindy) Hanson, Stacie (Jeff) Ravenhorst and Gracie Thomas; 14 great-grandchildren; sister Mary (Tom) Ferleman; and sister-in-law, Sally (Don) Ballard.

 Esther was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Virgil.
