Elwood Ernest Stallkamp was born May 27, 1941, to Ernest and Dorothy Fenske Stallkamp in Blue Earth. He graduated from Frost High School and attended Bethany Lutheran College and Mankato State University. After college, Woody worked as a lab assistant at the G. T. Schjeldahl Company in Northfield. He then moved to Frost to take a position as manager of the Arco Fertilizer plant and later worked as an electrical lineman for Frost Benco for ten years. On July 15, 1967, Woody was united in marriage to Gwen Prenzlow in Cornell, WI. Upon moving to Albert Lea in 1976, Woody worked for South Minnesota Oil for 20 years until his retirement in April 2004. Woody was a member of the Minnesota National Guard. Woody was an Elks member and a very active F.O.E. Eagles member. He and his wife were the first serving husband/wife presidential team in the history of the Albert Lea Fraternal Order of Eagles. In addition to being a local past president, Woody was a past Minnesota Fifth District President and a recipient of an "Eagle Of The Year" award. He was a doorman and trustee locally for many years. Woody was the Vice President on the Eagles Aerie Ritual Team for many years and a recipient of many District, State, and National individual and team awards. He truly lived the Eagle motto of "People Helping People." Woody spent many enjoyable hours the last three years of his life traveling nationally with his wife, Gwen, a F.O.E. Eagles Grand Auxiliary officer. Woody was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, where he served as an usher for many years. At home he loved taking care of his huge yard and enjoyed spending time with his sons, grandson, and vast family of friends. Survivors include his wife, Gwen of Albert Lea; sons, Rick Stallkamp and special friend, Sarah of Fridley and Rian and wife, Sara Stallkamp of Citrus Heights, CA; grandson, Rick "R. J." Stallkamp of South Haven, MN; brother, Dale and wife, Kathey Stallkamp of Blue Earth; brother-in-law, Elmer and wife, Karen Prenzlow of Bloomer, WI; and 3 nephews, many cousins, and extended family members. Woody was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Dorothy Stallkamp and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Elmer and Alvina Prenzlow. Woody was a kind and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a responsive and caring friend to so very many people. Blessed be his memory.
