Memorial services for Elton Ruble will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2014 at First Presbyterian Church. Rev. Dwight Netzer will officiate. Military honors will be accorded by local servicemenâs organizations, VFW and American Legion. Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Elton died Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at St. Johnâs Lutheran Community in Albert Lea, he was 77 years old.
Elton Sidney Ruble was born August 16, 1936, in Albert Lea to Clifford and Dagmar (Olsen) Ruble. He graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1954. He then served three years in the Army in Germany. Elton then graduated with a degree in agronomy from the University of Minnesota. He married Janice Ladlie in 1956 in Bad Kissingen, Germany. To this union, two daughters Pamela Ruble Lewis and Carol Ruble Waddle of Spokane, WA were born. Eltonâs career took him to New Orleans, Buffalo, NY, Mitchell, SD, Pierre, SD and in Fargo, ND for 38 years working in ag. business. He returned to Albert Lea in 2008. Elton loved fishing, golfing, hunting, bowling and playing cribbage with family and friends.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Janice of 58 years; daughter, Carol (Kit) Waddle; grandchildren, Ryan Lewis and Sadie Lewis; brother, Norman (Joyce) of Missoula, MT; sister, Phyllis Hendrickson of Albuquerque, NM; and sisters-in-law, Delores Allenspach, Elaine Flusek and Mary (Lloyd) Hartzell-Dunn; brothers-in-law, Dale (Jeanette) Ladlie, Jim (Fran) Ladlie, Steve (Pennie) Ladlie and Paul (Diane) Ladlie; and many nieces and nephews.
Elton was preceded in death by his daughter, Pam Lewis; parents, Cliff and Dagmar Ruble; brothers and sister-in-law, Glenn and Maureen Ruble; brother, David Ruble; brother-in-law, George Hendrickson; father and mother-in-law, George and Oma Ladlie; sister-in-law, Alice LaVallie; and brothers-in-law, Bob Hartzell and Gene Flusek.
