Elfreda A. Conell

July 1, 1912 — June 23, 2006

Elfreda A. Conell was born July 1, 1912, to William and Ida Biermann Lierman in Stapelhurst, NE. She was baptized and confirmed at the Mayorsville Lutheran Church and attended school in Mayorsville, NE. On February 21, 1931, Elfreda was united in marriage to Bernard K. Conell at Peace Lutheran Church in Waco, NE. The couple lived in Waco for a number of years before moving to Freeport, IL, and then to the Glenville area March 1, 1948. Elfreda was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church where she was active in Ladies Aid, taught Sunday School, faithful Circle and WELCA member. Elfreda loved to crochet, sew doll clothes for the granddaughters, reading, and playing games with the grandchildren. Survivors include her daughter, Joyce and husband, Norman Fredin of Albert Lea; son, Dorvan and wife Marge Conell of Great Bend, KS; grandchildren: Daniel Jane Conell of Hays, KS, Cindy Quentin Wittrock of Coon Rapids, MN, Dawn Dwayne Spinler of Red Feather, CO., Rene Jonathan Moen of Delano, MN, and Dana Tracy Conell of Santa Clarita, CA; great-grandchildren: Jason and Andrew Conell, Angela and Julia Wittrock, Kjersten and Annika Moen, Darrell Spinler, Nathan, Garrett and Carson Conell; special family friend, Delores Conell of Hays, KS; and many nieces and nephews. Elfreda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bernard in 1999; infant son in 1931; brothers: Ben, Oscar, Arnold, and Adolph Lierman; and sisters: Edna Musser, Hulda Campbell, Martha Strodtman, and Mildred Mann. Elfreda enjoyed and loved her five grandchildren and was priviledged to be a part of their lives from birth into adulthood. She loved her great-grandchildren dearly in her own special way. Elfreda was the last of nine children to be called to rest, blessed be the memories Elfreda left with us. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
