Edward George Petersen, Jr. was born November 3, 1928, to Edward G., Sr. and Tilda Thompson Petersen in Perry, IA. The family lived in Fort Dodge before moving to Lake Mills where Judge attended school through 8th grade before quitting to help on the family farm. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Judge moved to Albert Lea in 1957. On September 27, 1958, he married Dorothy E. Kirtz in Adams. Judge was employed at Smith-Douglas and Wilson's/Farmstead, retiring in 1978. He lived in Clarks Grove before becoming a resident of St. John's Lutheran Home six years ago. Judge was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Eagles, and the National Arbor Day Foundation. He got his pilot's license when he was 17 and loved flying and also enjoyed farming, being outdoors, and collecting old tractors. Survivors include his children: Lori and husband, Robert Kvenvold of Clarks Grove, Karen and husband, Michael Loverink of Juneau, AK, Jodi and husband, Lee Loverink of Geneva, and Dr. Kevin and wife, Krista Petersen of Buffalo, MN; grandchildren: Trisha and Derek Kvenvold of Clarks Grove, Jacob and John Loverink of Juneau, AK, Kelsey and Trevor Loverink of Geneva, and Chase and Alyse Petersen of Buffalo, MN; sisters, Olive Graham of Interlachen, FL, and Connie and husband, Terry Major of Altamonte Springs, FL; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews; and his ex-wife, Dorothy Petersen of Albert Lea. Judge was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Richard and Robert Petersen; sister, Lorraine Nachtmann; and granddaughters, Theresa Kvenvold and Cassandra Loverink.
