Edna Severson was born on October 15, 1911 in Manchester Township to Ole P. and Gina Fossom. She was baptized and confirmed at Central Freeborn Lutheran Church. Edna attended Albert Lea Business College and was employed as a dental assistant to Dr. Watland in Albert Lea for several years. Her marriage to Norman Severson took place in February, 1935. Edna and Norman lived in Albert Lea until 1945 at which time they moved to the Severson family farm near Lerdal. In 1949 they moved to the Geneva area where they farmed until retirement. They were members of Community Lutheran Church in Geneva where Edna was active in her circle and ladies aid. While on the farm Edna enjoyed vegetable gardening and taking care of her many flowers. In 1984 Edna moved to Albert Lea. After several years in an apartment she moved to Bancroft Creek Estates where she enjoyed socializing and playing cards with her senior friends. Edna has lived at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home since September of 2005. Edna was a wonderful mother and grandmother whose positive attitude will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. Survivors include her daughters, Phyllis Robert Whitney of Minneapolis and Suzette William Bos of Ankeny, IA; son, Noel Patricia Severson of rural Ellendale; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Edna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman in 1984; sister, Ellen John Anderson; twin sister, Erna Henry Brown; brothers, Ole Fossom and Wegner Fossom.
