Eddie P. Lahs was born on December 17, 1921 to William and Esther Peterson Lahs in Minneapolis, MN. Eddie grew up in the Albert Lea area. He was baptized and confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. On November 7, 1959 Eddie was united in marriage to Winifred Layman Erickson. Eddie worked as a lather for Hendly Co. for over 45 years. He worked on numerous buildings in the area including the 54 Courthouse, Salem Lutheran Church, 1st Presbyterian Church, Brookside School, and the Mayo Clinic Building in Rochester. Eddie enjoyed working as the greens keeper at Graceville Country Club for about 15 years. In 2007 Eddie return to live in Albert Lea. Eddie enjoyed hunting and fishing, golfing and watching any kind of sports on TV. Survivors include his son, Larry Mary Lahs of Albert Lea; grandchildren, Larry Jr. Nancy Lahs, Laura Ken Delano and Linda Meza all of Albert Lea; 5 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson; sister-in-law, Arlene Lahs of Mankato; 5 step children, Richard, Quinton, Marvin, Carol and Sharon; 10 step grandchildren; and 6 step great-grandchildren. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Winnie; and brother William. Eddie will be sadly missed by his entire family. Memorials are preferred to the Salem Lutheran Church Choir.
