Duane Elmer Kauffman was born on March 3, 1932 in Pecatonica, IL, the son of Elmer and Helen Wagner Kauffman. He grew up and attended school in Pecatonica. Following school, Bud served his country in the Korean Conflict. Following his discharge from the service, Bud moved to Albert Lea. He was married to Rose Hanson Kauffman for many years and later divorced. Bud moved to Cottage Grove, MN. He worked as a truck driver for the Pioneer Press Newspaper, and was a proud member of the Teamster's Union. Following his retirement, Bud lived in several locations including Albert Lea, New Richland and Farmington. He was a member of the American Legion, the VFW, and the Masonic Lodge. Bud enjoyed driving, smoking, fishing, and playing with his grandchildren. Survivors include his children Michael and Stacy Kauffman of Utah, Doug and Lorrie Kauffman of Green Bay, WI, Jim and Julie Kauffman of Detroit Lakes, and Sally and Andy Bo-Subait of Lakeville; eleven grandchildren, sister Beverly Dunnette of New Richland, brother Arthur Glenn Weaver of California; aunt Lucille Rowland of Pecatonica; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bud was preceded in death by his parents, his uncle Vic and his aunts Cecil and Bernice.
