Funeral services for Duane Mark Ferley, age 54, of Hastings will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Silver Lake Lutheran Church, visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the church. Rev. Randy Baldwin will officiate. Interment will be at Silver Lake Cemetery.
Duane died Monday, May 28, 2012 at his home.
Duane Mark Ferley was born on August 21, 1957 to Glenn and Lyla (Jacobson) Ferley in Albert Lea. He grew up on the family farm in rural Northwood and graduated from Northwood Kensett High School. On October 27, 2001 he married Solla V. Warmboe at Silver Lake Lutheran Church. Duane worked in construction for Wilson McShane Company. He was a member of Silver Lake Lutheran Church and the Carpenterâs, Laborerâs & Joinerâs Union. Duane volunteered for Brave Heart Dog Rescue. He enjoyed watching TV especially old Bonanza shows and playing bingo at the Eagles.
Survivors include his wife Solla; daughter Viktoria Mies (friend Dustin Meide); brothers Paul (Sharyl) Ferley of Northwood, IA and Gerald (Lucretia) Ferley of Mason City, IA; sisters Cheryl (Larry) Schuttler of Grafton, IA, Linda (Jerry) Holty of Hastings, MN, Shirley (Terry) Turvold of Cottage Grove, MN and Glenda Schiller of Hastings; 15 nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents Glenn and Lyla Ferley; grandparents Alfred and Gena Ferley and Tommy and Stena Jacobson.
In lieu of flowers memorial are preferred to the Silver Lake Cemetery.
