Funeral services for Duaine Paul Folie, age 47, of Moyoke, NC will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Chapel. Rev. Kent Otterman will officiate. Interment will be at East Freeborn Cemetery with Military Honors accorded by Freeborn County area Veteranâs organizations. Visitation will be from 5-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 31st at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service.
Duaine died Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at his home.
Duaine Paul Folie was born on September 3, 1964 in Faribault, the son of Paul and Katherine (Vavra) Folie. He grew up in the Albert Lea area and graduated from Albert Lea High School. While he was in school Duaine worked at Good Samaritan Center and Wedge Nursery. In 1982 Duaine enlisted in the United States Navy. After retiring from his military career, Duaine made his home in Moyoke, NC. He was a member of the American Legion. Duaine loved camping, boating, fishing, motorcycling and woodworking. He enjoyed spending time growing things and doing landscaping at his home. Duaine especially treasured the time he spent with his daughters.
Survivors include his daughters Sierra and Megan Folie both of Norfolk, VA; mother Katherine Folie of Albert Lea; sister Marsha (Bruce) Madson of Ellendale; brother Steve Folie of Hartland; nephews Lukas and Lance Madson of Ellendale; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Duaine was preceded in death by his father Paul and his grandparents.
