Dorothy Kvenvold was born on April 11, 1924 in Webster City, Iowa, the daughter of Ernest and Lottie (Peck) Bowman. She moved to Albert Lea at a young age and graduated from Albert Lea High School. On May 28, 1946 Dorothy was married to Owen Kvenvold at First Lutheran Church. She worked at Wilsonâs, Land OâLakes and the Albert Lea High School cafeteria. Dorothy enjoyed reading and country music. She was a Sunday School Teacher, was a den mother for the cub scouts, chairman of the Ladies Auxiliary, enjoyed visiting shut-ins, and going camping. Dorothy was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and the ladies aid.
Survivors include her children Larry O. (Linda) Kvenvold, Richard L. Kvenvold, and Kevin (Julie) Kvenvold; grandchildren Denise (Wes) Burkholder, Deborah (Matt) Vang, and Natasha (Matt) Grove, Tyler and Kayla Kvenvold; great-grandchildren Alexandria Kvenvold, Clayton, and Hayley Burkholder, Elanor Vang and Benett and Averie Grove; sister Delores (Robert) Haines of Wirt, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Owen, granddaughter Rebecca Kvenvold; sisters Marie (Kermit) Gilbertson, Lila Jacobson, and Doris Rietsma; brothers Laverne Bowman, Emery (Irene) Bowman; brother-in-law Kermit (Gladys) Kvenvold and nephew Alton Kvenvold; sisters-in-law, Hazel (Archie) Sorenson and Myrtle Kvenvold, and a niece Sandy Gilbertson.
