Dorothy Ruth Jensen was born on May 12, 1917 to Henry and Anna Festing Miers in Jefferson City, IA. The family moved to Hilman, MN when Dorothy was less than one year old. She attended school in Hilman. Dorothy married Roy Jensen in 1939 in Mason City, IA. They had four children. Dorothy and Roy farmed together west of Clarks Grove until 1981 when they retired but continued living on the farm. After living on the farm together for 58 years, they moved to Albert Lea in 1997. Dorothy and Roy were members of the First Baptist Church of Clarks Grove all their married life. Dorothy was active in Circle and Ladies Aid in her younger years. She especially enjoyed working with the Wee School Preschool. Dorothy enjoyed crocheting, quilt making, crafts, reading, baking and took delight in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a very nurturing and supportive person and will be greatly missed. Survivors include her sons, David Bonnie Jensen of Clarks Grove, and Glenn Lynne Jensen of Golden Valley; daughters, Isabelle Wayne of Albert Lea, and Nancy Les Monson of Litchfield; grandchildren, Larry Kathleen Jensen of Onalaska, WI, Shelley John Doran of Clarks Grove, Sherry Matt McCartney of Owatonna, Ryan Megan Jensen of Clarks Grove, Keith Leigh Ann Wayne of Caledonia, OH, Christos Jensen of St. Paul, Nicole Jensen of Tempe. AZ, Matthew Megan Monson of New York, NY, and Jordan Monson of Minneapolis; great-grandchildren, Allison and Bethany Jensen, Tyler and Sydney Doran, Cody, Caedon and Conner McCartney, Danika Jensen, and Nathan, Caroline, Andrew and John Mark Wayne; sister, Esther VanRavenhorst of Albert Lea; numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy; son-in-law, Neil Wayne; granddaughter, Caryn Jensen; brothers, Raymond Miers, Everett Miers, and Alvin Miers; sisters, Albertha Bankston, Augusta Lewis, and Lila Brown.
