Private Funeral Service for Donna Dahl will be held at Bayview Freeborn Funeral Home on Saturday (6/13). Rev. Erica Cunningham will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Donna Lou Dahl, age 93 of Albert Lea, MN, passed away on Saturday, June 6th at Thorne Crest Retirement Center surrounded by her loving family.

Donna was born April 17, 1927 in Manly, IA to John and Alpha Walk. She was a graduate of Albert Lea High School. On May 17, 1947 she was married to Omar Dahl in Albert Lea and together they raised eight children. The couple lived around and in Albert Lea all their lives. Donna worked at the Stables Supper Club for 32 years.

Everybody was always welcome at the Dahl family home. Donna was a wonderful cook and she had many holidays and family gatherings. Her favorite thing in life was taking care of her family and her and Omar’s gin rummy card games. Donna’s kind and gentle nature will always be missed.

She is survived by her eight children: Patricia (Bill) Clifford, Sandra Nelson (Special friend Bill Raatz), Catherine O’Donnell (Special friend Bob Schaitz), Dean (Lisa) Dahl, Donnell (Dale) Haukoos, David (Kathie) Dahl, Jody (Mike) Johnson, and Jamie (Sam) Kirsch; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; one sister-in-law Marvel Dahl.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband Omar and her parents, brothers; Wayne (Sally) Walk, Daryl Walk, Arlo Walk and sister Phyllis Walk.

The family wants to thank the wonderful staff at Thorne Crest for the care and love they gave our mother. Her children and grandchildren will love and miss her forever.
