Donn D. Smith Sr.

Donn Dale Smith, Sr. was born October 11, 1935, to Verle E. and Ruth Ann Anderson Smith in Minneapolis. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1954 - 1957. On February 5, 1955, Donn was united in marriage to Shirley Joanne Henderson in Edina. They lived in Eagan from 1961 to 1993, where Donn was a Police Officer with the Eagan Police Department and a charter member of the Eagan Fire Department. After his retirement, the couple moved to Clarks Grove. Donn attended Faith Baptist Church. He enjoyed working on, and restoring "old-time" cars. Survivors include his wife, Shirley of Clarks Grove; children: Donn, Jr. Nancy Smith of New Ulm, Brad Loretta Mann Smith of LeSueur, Lynn Dave Fletcher Delisi of Lakeville, and James Helen Smith of Clarksville, GA; grandchildren: Tim Smith, Molly Smith, Marty Smith, Nick Smith, Maggie Smith, Jessicca Delisi, Domnic Delisi, Sarah Ann Smith, and Zachary Arson Smith; great-granddaughter, Ava Grace Zegar; and siblings: Ralph Dolores Smith of Minneapolis, Edward Rosetta Smith of Crestview, FL, Louis Klefsaas of Minneapolis, and Arlene Mark, also of Minneapolis. Donn was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Savage.
